About me

I’m Marianne Guenot, a freelance science journalist and editor with more than a decade of experience writing news, features, explainers, opinion, and investigations.

I trained as a biomedical scientist before moving into journalism, and I now focus on health, medicine, science policy, and technology. I have worked in the editorial rooms of The Lancet, Nature Medicine, and Business Insider.

My work has appeared in Business Insider, The Lancet, Nature Medicine, BBC Science Focus, The British Medical Journal, and Live Science. I have more than 700 bylines and my stories have attracted tens of millions of pageviews.

I’m especially interested in reporting that makes complex science understandable without flattening it, whether that means obesity research, clinical trials, AI, or the politics and economics behind scientific discovery.
